We started as FX Paranormal — a small group of investigators with a love of history, creepy buildings and sitting in the dark asking questions to nobody.

It was supposed to stay simple.

It didn't.

Paranormal investigating somehow turned into events, fundraising, charity work and community projects. Eventually, FX Paranormal wasn't big enough for the monster we'd created.

So The NOX Project CIC was born.

The Priest's Cottage in Leeds is our office by day and paranormal investigation location by night.

Yes, we willingly work in an insanely haunted building.

A normal day can involve emails, meetings and someone suddenly asking:

"Did you just hear that?"

And some of us don't get much peace at home either. Apparently ghosts don't understand work-life balance.

The paranormal is still a huge part of who we are.

We run The Priest's Cottage, organise Spook & Spirit Fest, created the Golden Orb Awards, and support research-led, ethical paranormal investigation.

We believe in history, evidence, integrity and checking the normal explanations before declaring you've spoken to Satan.

NOX is also about community and actually getting stuff done.

We fundraise, collect donations, support charities and community organisations, and develop projects both in the UK and further afield.

Our approach is usually:

"What do you need?"

Followed by:

"Right… how the hell are we going to do this?"

We're ordinary people running on caffeine, inappropriate humour, slightly questionable ideas and determination.

We can't fix everything.

But if we can help someone, support a good cause, preserve some history, bring people together or leave something slightly better than we found it — we'll give it a bloody good go.

Still paranormal. Still curious. Slightly feral. Definitely haunted.

Each year we gather and fundraise for gifts to take around care homes. We have the privilege of visiting those who feel as though they are forgotten at a time of year which is still magical for them. 

Our first year we took our children and managed 1 care home. Spending time and delivering gifts to all residents. 

This last year we added another carehome to our delivery round. 

This year as a CIC we would like to reach even more. 

One of our regular causes to support is Homeless Street Angels. These don't only deliver a hot meal and support to those on the streets but also provide a foodbank supporting 900 families in Leeds. 

Our donations have been anything from food, sleeping bag, clothes down to supporting some of their clients with paranormal needs. 

While we don't publicise everything we do for HSA we know the support we can provide is invaluable.

As well as the carehomes and Homeless street angels we have also raised money for Martin House Children's Hospice and Action Cerebral Palsy in memory of Rhian's brother.
